Well, the down jones industrial average is DOWN again. People have lost a lot of money. However, what is money - if we can ask you. OK is it a medium of exchange as your college prof says. Perhaps, income is an illusion or a mirage. Yeah, one that gives us a false feeling of being safe and secure.
I see my orangeback as monopoly money. They claim to have some value, but I am not so sure.
